Native to Europe, Jovibarba ("beard of Jove") is a small genus of three species closely related to Sempervivum. Jovibarba have pale-greenish-yellow or yellow bell-shaped flowers with six petals, while Sempervivum has actinomorphic flowers with more than six petals.
Jovibarba do best when planted in a shallow gritty, free-draining mix. They thrive in filtered sun conditions. They are prone to rot where winters are very wet and should be moved to a sheltered position. Frost resistant.
